- Microsoft.NET is Microsoft’s new initiative that moves the focus away from individual Web sites or devices to collections of computers, devices, and services working together to deliver information any time, any place, and on any device. It is a vision of developing software as a service. This course strives to define what .NET is and how it might affect your software development plans. It covers the three major .NET programming models, GUI Applications with Windows Forms, Web applications with ASP.NET and Web Forms and Web services. Other topics include C# and other programming languages that Microsoft.NET applications and components can be written in, as well as the .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR), the .NET Framework class library, and data access strategies with ADO.NET.
