Course Description

 
This course starts with an overview of Windows 2000 networking, including address and port usage by protocols, NetBios name resolution, and use of network diagnostic utilities. Installation and configuration topics beyond those covered in Implementing, Supporting and Troubleshooting Windows 2000 Professional (WIN100) are discussed, including DHCP, WINS and DNS installation and configuration. Discuss Kerberos and understand how Kerberos authentication operates on Windows 2000 networks. Active Directory Services is introduced with the topics of Directory security, access control rights, and creating and managing users and groups. Students will understand NTFS File and Directory Permissions, how to publish and manage shared resources, and configure policy based user and security management.
