Course Description

 
This intensive course teaches data processing professionals how to create application programs that contain basic, advanced, and interactive Structured Query Language commands using different implementations of ANSI Standard SQL. Students learn to issue data definition, query, and update commands against a populated nine-table sample database. Special emphasis is given to views, joins, subqueries, and checking for referential integrity. Along with introducing the requirements for embedding SQL commands, the workshop explains the relational model, security issues, SQL standards, and table design and modification.
