Course Description

 
This seminar provides a technical overview of OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) systems and Data Marts. Participants will experience how to turn existing data in their organization into the information which becomes knowledge of how their business can better compete. The course will also provide the knowledge and skills to create a Data Warehouse model from an OLTP (On-Line Transaction Processing) system and then design the dimensions and facts for meeting the requirements of the OLAP system or Data Mart. The course is presented in a lecture and workshop format with exercises that reinforce the concepts presented. Participants will construct star schemas and learn Data Warehouse modeling and design through hands-on techniques and exercises.
